Assemblox x86 Simulator
A downloadable tool for Windows
Windows Only at the moment. Sorry for any inconvenience.
I created assemblox to help bridge the knowledge gap between machine code and x86 assembly. It's a tool that allows you to observe how different x86 machine code instructions affect the hardware, and watch the flow of electricity through a virtual computer. If you're learning about computer hardware and architecture, assemblox should be a helpful tool!
Here's how it works:
The left side of the screen shows you the hardware of the computer, most importantly the registers, which you can interact with directly. The right side of the screen is your program that you can build by dragging and dropping different opcodes into ram. You can execute your programs using the frame at the bottom of the screen at different speeds. I recommend for new users and learners to enable "show [reg]" tool at the bottom of the RAM menu so that you can see where the registers will access when used as pointers!
